Historically, in the early 20th century, people of this village had business relationships in many foreign countries, especially in Sri Lanka. Due to trade and commercial compulsions they had to travel to distant lands in the Far East and Europe. This gave them an exposure to European architecture and traditional customs. These businessmen from Manapad diligently collated all important data of these marvelous architectural designs and built exquisite churches and mansions in their homeland. Even the master plan layout of the entire village with its smartly planned streets and precisely lined trees are a testimony to the artistic flavor of the early generations who lived in this village.

Originally built in 1927, this property has carefully undergone a meticulous and intensive renovation process in the year 2010. Whilst retaining its originality, It has now been retrofitted with all modern amenities and fixtures that has made it a perfect holiday retreat.

This property has six well furnished bedrooms, modern wash rooms, two grand halls fitted with finest furniture, audio and video equipments, a dining hall, open-to-sky terrace restaurant, fully functional kitchen, spacious garden, library, barbeque set, laundry facility etcetera.

Our hosts are available at all times to attend to the needs of our guests. Local and international cuisine would be made available to guests throughout their stay with us. It's towering churches and European themed castles still adorn the narrow lanes of this coastal village. This pristine hamlet, with all its beauty and majesty stands still, without being noticed for all its gorgeous features and distinctive location. We therefore felt it apt to refer to this blissful place as "Magnificent Manapad".

We have embarked on a visionary zeal to unearth the beauty of this immaculate location and promote this as a holistic travel and tourism destination.
